John Eisses Furthering Education for Young Growers Sponsorship
The John Eisses Furthering Education for Young Growers Sponsorship is a fund that was developed in 2024 in memory of long-time apple grower John Eisses from Northville, Kings County. His family asked that donations in his memory be made to a special fund with the purpose of supporting the continuing education, development, and advancement of the next generation of tree fruit growers. The hope is that this fund will build upon the legacy of innovation, exploration, and willingness to grow and adapt new practices that has been embodied by the Nova Scotia tree fruit sector.
This fund will be used to support an annual scholarship to support furthering the education of a grower under the age of 35 who is actively involved in the tree fruit industry in Nova Scotia. This fund will be awarded to a young grower for the purposes of travel, conference registration, and/or continuing education.
