Important Annual General Meeting Information

As a reminder, each year we hold board elections for seats on the NSFGA board of directors. Each year we elect two new board members to as members-at-large to the NSFGA board. If you are interested in participating in the board of directors, please reach out to Emily Lutz for more information.

We also elect our new President and Vice-President this year as Joan Hebb’s two year President term comes to a close. Jeffrey Walsh of Walsh Farms is our incoming President and we will elect a new Vice President from the membership.

Each year NSFGA accepts resolutions for the membership to consider at the Annual General Meeting. We accept the resolutions in advance OR from the floor at the meeting. Resolutions submitted in advance can be more easily put on the screen and integrated into Annual Convention documentation. We encourage anyone who wishes to submit a resolution to do so in advance using the form below. Please return to elutz@nsfruitgrowers.ca once complete.

Growing Good Growers Tailgate Meeting: Blossom and Fruitlet Thinning

We hope that you can join us for the next Growing Good Growers tailgate session hosted by NSFGA and Perennia. These pop-up sessions are meant to offer the space to discuss questions during the season and will offer learning opportunities from one another.

The Growing Good Growers tailgate session will be held at Lutz Family Farm on Wednesday, May 21 @ 11am.  The topic is blossom and fruitlet thinning. Have you blossom thinned or are you interested in trying it? Then thinking further ahead to fruitlet thinning there are three key timings at petal fall, small fruitlets, and rescue timing. What has been your experience with timings and products? Please bring your thoughts, experiences, and questions on thinning and join us for this discussion.

Please meet us at the flat at 1023 Prospect Road, Rockland. There is parking on the main pad and beside the house.

There is no need to RVSP, and we encourage you to bring your own coffee and snacks. Everyone is welcome to attend! It’s a good chance to catch up with friends. You can add this event to your calendar by clicking here.
